The doggies are just begging to go for a walk but it's so sloppy out, and they just had baths, so they'll have to wait a few more days to see if it dries up a little bit. Today we hit 62 and it was so nice I went running with shorts on and actually worked up a nice sweat...never thought this day would come. Winters here are soooo long and sooooo cold but our summers are so beautiful they surely make up for it!

Spring has finally sprung...or at least it did for the weekend. We hit the low 50's both Saturday and Sunday and the snow has almost completely disappeared. I'm sure it won't last but we'll take what we can get! The neighborhood kids all appeared again playing hockey in the street and riding bikes, kinda reminds me of a bunch of bears coming out of hibernation, and it's amazing how they all look so much older than the last time we saw them (which was probably in November).

The finished room...the color isn't exactly what I wanted but it'll do, Sebastian likes it and that's the most important thing. The maps didn't stick to the backs of the shelves...they've got a gloss to them so as soon as the glue dried they fell right off...oh well. I'm glad it's done and it's organized for once (although that probably won't last ver long!)

Well, hopefully this is the last day Sebastian's room looks this way...I plan on getting started tomorrow (since I took the day off for me and Shelby to visit Stout but she cancelled at the last minute) and I'm going to work my butt off to get it done. I changed my mind on the paint color, no orange as originally planned...now it's a color called "ripe wheat"...I wish Lisa were here, she's the queen of paint colors!

One step closer to that bittersweet day when my first born and only daughter leaves me for college. After dinner we got our first payment, her housing intention card, dorm room contract and health forms ready to mail. (yes, I did cry...again). Tomorrow I have to make an appointment to get her a meningitis shot. The "to do" list keeps getting shorter and the big day keeps getting closer...we've even started making the "what to bring" list. I can see a little panic or perhaps fear in her eyes when we do things like this, it's becoming more real everyday. I just have to keep reminding her (and myself) that she's only an hour away and that she's going to have the time of her life being out on her own and experiencing all that college life has to offer! A thought that brings me a little comfort is how much easier it'll be when Matthew leaves me (or so I hope!)

We're updating Sebastian's room...got some shelves yesterday at IKEA to hold all his books, Legos and Star Wars figures. He wants more of a "big boy" room since he'll turn 8 in April. These are the paint samples we're trying to decide between. His room will be blue and orange and maps...yes maps...state maps on the inside of the shelves and a wall sized world map on one of the walls. I can't wait to "retire" some of his toys. Hopefully the actual room turns out as nice as the room I have pictured in my head!
